https://www.post.gov.tw/post/internet/Philately/index.jsp?ID=508

Usually, stamp collecting begins when one sees commemorative stamps at a certain tourist attraction. But now that the Internet is well developed, it is possible for online to drive offline business. That is, I googled for relevant information (such as JJ’s blog) before taking action.
So let’s discuss the domestic part first. I usually do my research online first, browsing the websites of major venues, or related social Facebook groups (such as Stamp Travel in Taiwan and Commemorative Stamp Corporation), where stamp friends share enthusiastically.
The stamp collection scene in Taiwan can be roughly divided into five categories:
1. Major venues and attractions: public museums, art galleries, libraries, exhibition halls and private exhibition venues. It should be noted that most public institutions (many of which offer free admission) are usually closed on Mondays, but some are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and some are especially closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Be sure to check the business hours when planning your trip. As for private venues, it depends on the store owner. It is very diverse and I will not go into details here. In some cases, the library will be temporarily closed for 1 to 2 years for long-term renovation. Please note that some of the places require reservations to visit. There are also different levels, so there are a lot of details! Does it arouse your interest? Join me and collect chapters together~
2. Transportation attractions: MRT stations and train stations. There are commemorative stamps at almost every station in Taiwan except the light rail system. Most of them are outside the station and you can get the stamp without buying a ticket. What’s special about train stations is that due to the one-day-off-one-day-on-one-day-for-work policy, some small stations may have lunch breaks. For example, there will be no one from 12:30 to 13:30 (the same applies to small post offices), so this is also a place you need to pay attention to to avoid being disappointed.(It is recommended that beginners start with this method because the MRT opens very early and there is no need to check whether it is open or not. It is open all year round just like 7-11)
3. Post Office Scenic Spots: For post offices in various places with scenic stamps, please refer to the post office website.
4. Event limited: limited quantity and time stamps within a certain period of time. For this, you have to visit the Facebook pages of major institutions frequently and follow the latest news on their official websites to obtain useful information.
5. Limited consumption stamps: Some stores will have a rule that you need to make a purchase to get a stamp, and they will update the commemorative stamps regularly. After all, stores are in business to make a living! Please give your support, netizens.
Among foreign countries, Japan has the largest number of stamp collectors (unsurprisingly, it should be number one in the world), followed by mainland China’s crazy stamp collecting journey in recent years, which I will introduce in another article later.
